Zündapp was an essential German motorcycle manufacturer created in 1917 in Nuremberg through Fritz Neumeyer, together with the Friedrich Krupp AG plus the machine tool manufacturer Thiel within the name "Zünder- und Apparatebau H. m. b. Following bankruptcy, the entire production series and intellectual properties was bought by Xunda Powerplant Co., Tianjin, China. Zündapp is still running a business, but makes Honda based 4-stroke motorcycles and electric mopeds.Zündapp also had any technical collaboration with Regal Enfield (India) to make mopeds and motorcycles. A dedicated factory was built at Ranipet near Chennai inside the early 1980s to create small, lightweight two-stroke motorcycles to be offered with their flagship Royal Enfield Round. Enfield launched two 50 closed circuit motorcycles first, the step-thru Silver Plus and the 3-speed Explorer motorcycle. Later, 175 cc Enfield Fury (according to Zündapp KS175) was introduced being a performance motorcycle. It had 5-speed gearbox, a hydraulic Brembo disc brake plus a sleeveless hard chromed cyndrical tube barrel, all were a first using a motorcycle in that state.
