Zündapp was a significant German motorcycle manufacturer created in 1917 in Nuremberg by simply Fritz Neumeyer, together with the Friedrich Krupp AG and the machine tool manufacturer Thiel beneath the name "Zünder- und Apparatebau H. m. b. After WWII the organization transitioned to smaller equipment, notably the "Bella" engine scooter, which was a relatively heavy machine due to the type. Zündapp is still in operation, but makes Honda based 4-stroke motorcycles and electric powered mopeds.Zündapp also had any technical collaboration with Royal Enfield (India) to build mopeds and motorcycles. A dedicated factory seemed to be built at Ranipet near Chennai from the early 1980s to production small, lightweight two-stroke motorcycles to be offered along with their flagship Royal Enfield Topic. Enfield launched two 50 cc motorcycles first, the step-thru Silver Plus plus the 3-speed Explorer motorcycle. Later, 175 cc Enfield Fury (depending on Zündapp KS175) was introduced to be a performance motorcycle. It had 5-speed gearbox, a hydraulic Brembo disc brake plus a sleeveless hard chromed storage container barrel, all were a first on the motorcycle in that state.
