Zündapp was a serious German motorcycle manufacturer started in 1917 in Nuremberg through Fritz Neumeyer, together with the Friedrich Krupp AG plus the machine tool manufacturer Thiel underneath the name "Zünder- und Apparatebau Gary the gadget guy. m. b. The initial Zündapp motorcycle was your model Z22 in 1921. This was the Motorrad für Jedermann ("motorcycle intended for everyone"), a simple, reliable design that was produced in large series. Zündapp's history of heavy motorcycles began in 1933 using the K-series. The "K" refers to the type of drivetrain that these types used, Kardanantrieb, meaning enclosed driveshaft having two universal joints. Zündapp introduced the enclosed crankcase (then a novelty). The series encompassed types from 200 to eight hundred cc displacement and was an important success, increasing Zündapp's market share in Germany from 5% with 1931 to 18% in 1937.The Zündapp KS600, first released in 1938, had a 28 h . p . (21 kW) width wise opposed twin cylinder powerplant with overhead valves displacing 597 cc (36. 4 cu in). The KS600 was often along with a Steib sidecar, the BW38 (Beiwagen 1938). Following the bankruptcy, the entire production series and intellectual properties has been bought by Xunda Electric motor Co., Tianjin, China. They produced small Zündapp bikes from 1987 till their early 1990s. Zündapp is still operating, but makes Honda centered 4-stroke motorcycles and electric powered mopeds.Zündapp also had a technical collaboration with Regal Enfield (India) to develop mopeds and motorcycles. A dedicated factory has been built at Ranipet near Chennai inside the early 1980s to production small, lightweight two-stroke motorcycles to be offered along with their flagship Royal Enfield Topic. Enfield launched two 50 closed circuit motorcycles first, the step-thru Silver Plus as well as the 3-speed Explorer motorcycle. Later, 175 cc Enfield Fury (determined by Zündapp KS175) was introduced as being a performance motorcycle.
